National Assessment Centre (NAC) Portal Overview
Mandate and Initiative
The National Assessment Centre (NAC) Portal is a landmark digital initiative of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It serves as the technological backbone for the Faceless Assessment mechanism in Indian Customs.
The Mumbai Customs, Zone-I, New Customs House has been officially entrusted with the responsibility of developing, managing, and maintaining the NAC Portal for all National Assessment Centres across India.
The portal provides a unified, transparent, and efficient digital platform to support assessment-related functions, strengthen inter-NAC coordination, and facilitate trade in alignment with the Government of India’s "Turant Customs" reform initiatives. It ensures uniformity in classification and valuation while reducing physical interface between the Trade and the Department.
